Why It’s Best to Keep It Groovy

Between Woodstock and shoulder pads, the world of fashion made some pretty big moves. The 1970s were full of fashion icons that are just as eminent today as they were back then: Cher, Farrah Fawcett, Diane Von Furstenberg… And although no one seems to be wearing her hair feathered (thank goodness), the trends from this groovy decade are making a comeback — a big one.

If you search “1970s fashion” on Pinterest, it’s extremely difficult to even tell the difference between pictures actually from the 70s and those from the 21st century! Our generation has gravitated towards this era in the recent years, embraced it wholeheartedly, and now we all look like we could all be extras in Dazed and Confused. Bell bottoms, mini skirts, fringe, turtlenecks, plaid, suede, and bold patterns are all back and better than ever. The popular colors from the 70s have also resurfaced. Looking back on 2017 and ahead to 2018, Pantone shows us that the muted greens, pinks, and yellows have been all the rage.

If I haven’t already convinced you why you should ask your mom to dig up her clothes from high school, here are a couple of examples of why it’s best to keep it groovy:
