Panicked that your eyebrows are growing at the rate of looking like a caterpillar? But too nervous to possibly let anyone touch them in fear of looking pencil thin? Fear not. I tried a few brow specialists around SMU, and they are all completely trustworthy.
1. Benefit Brow Bar
Location: 4022 Villanova St, Dallas, TX 75225
Conveniently located right in Preston Center, this well-known beauty brand is no. 1 on my list. Specializing in natural, fuller looking brows, I was completely at ease (which is hard to do) as the she plastered hot wax across my eyelid. They let you choose from a “menu” of looks, similar to the Drybar concept. But my biggest compliment to these brow pros was their adaptability to my particular needs. I personally have very sensitive skin above my brows and waxing there always causes breakouts. Solving my dilemma, they were more than happy to decide to thread above instead. And the cherry on top, they offer a complimentary makeup touchup after you’ve had your brows plucked and prodded at.
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Studio
Location: Inside Nordstrom at Northpark Center
Known for their awesome brow products like their dipbrow and duo powder fillers, the celebrity brow expert Anastasia Soare does some of the biggest A list celebs brows such as Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez. Tucked in the beauty department at Nordstrom, my brow specialist had me spinning out of the chair almost as quickly as I sat down. In and out in practically 10 minutes, this appointment is efficient and gets the job done right. They examine the natural shape of your brow and brow bone and pick the stencil that matches your brows the best to wax away the rest. The best part about the hidden gem is that no appointment is necessary. So, next time you’re at the mall and realize you need a clean-up, you can just drop by.
3. Wink Threading Salon
Location: 3839 McKinney Ave #115, Dallas, TX 75204
The most affordable but not necessarily the least painful option is the Texas based company, Wink Threading Salon located in Uptown. This brow salon is different from the rest in that it specializes in threading, one of the safest and most hygienic hair removal processes. It may just be me, but my eyes always tend to water when undergoing threading, but the technique is actually the gentlest on the skin, hence why I like to do it above my brows to prevent breakouts. The best thing about this option is that threading allows for extreme precision because it removes hair in a line formation which enhances shaping capabilities. The benefits here: it’s quick, clean and effective and affordable
