Luxury on a Budget

It is no secret that women in Dallas love anything and everything designer. However, there has recently been a push back in the fashion industry not only on how expensive designer goods are but the exuberant resources used to craft them. Businesses like the Real Real and Tradesy recognized this issue and decided to take a stand.

Both companies authenticate all of the pieces that they are sold to ensure their customers that they are making valid purchases. According to the founder of Tradesy, her company was founded on the idea of living more simply. She looked in her closet and realized that there are so many amazing pieces she never uses that other women may love. And, who doesn’t love designer pieces on sale? Through the Real Real, I was able to get a $990 Zac Posen gown for $250. I mean, does it get any better?

Not only does this give women an opportunity to purchase luxury goods they’ve always dreamed of having in their closets at amazing prices, but the ecological impact of consignment shopping is incredible. However, be wary of the places where you purchase thrifted designer pieces. There is still a huge counterfeit industry, and any fashionista knows that counterfeit is pretty much the death of creativity in fashion. The Real Real, Tradesy and even our very own Luxury Garage Sale are your safest bets on finding your next pair of Gucci slides or Céline handbag.
