Best Dressed: Golden Globes Edition

Some celebs took home trophies both on and off the red carpet this past Sunday at the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards. This show officially marks the beginning of awards season (i.e. major gown envy) and is otherwise known as the most glamourous time of the year.

First up is Lady Gaga in Valentino. Aside from the gowns Cinderella-esque color and dreamy train, Gaga’s topknot had a matching tint of blue that completed this noteworthy look. In typical Gaga fashion, the praise didn’t stop once she was off the red carpet. The actress/singer/performer powerhouse took home an award for best original song in “A Star is Born.”

Veteran Golden Globe winner Julia Roberts chose a more daring route and wowed in feminine separates. Roberts paired a high-low Stella McCartney dress with pants, also by the English designer. The actress posted on Instagram shortly after the award show with some In-N-Out and her hubby to wrap up the glamorous evening.

Lupita Nyong’o is a constant on best dressed lists and the Golden Globes were certainly no exception. The actress wowed in an embellished royal blue Calvin Klein by Appointment gown. She added sparkling Bulgari diamonds to complement the look.

Last but not least, let’s not forget about the boys! Nominee (and teen heartthrob) Timothée Chalamet spiced up traditional formal wear in a head to toe Louis Vuitton look complete with a sequined bib. Chalamet polished off his ensemble with Cartier accessories. Chalamet posted on IG with his mom before the event- we love a mama’s boy!

The Golden Globes red carpet saw lots of embellishment, deep hues, and velvet. It will be exciting to see if these themes continue on the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet on Jan. 27.
