Faux Glow Faux Real!

Life without a tan feels like a black and white movie, a little less exciting! Thank goodness for Punxsutawney Phil and his predictions of an early spring, but until then these products will have you looking like a bronze goddess on spring break and beyond.

In the pursuit of the faux glow the most important part is the face. While some rely on bronzer for the heavy lifting I turn to the Isle of Paradise tanning drops. Mix these babies with your moisturizer at night and you will wake up with the perfect sun kissed shimmer. There’s nothing worse than overdoing it, so ladies cut the ambition and stick to your shade. They are offered in light, medium, or dark and you can use between one to 12 drops depending on the level of color you want. Tan Luxe makes a similar product, but it comes with a heftier price tag. If you’re still unsure, stick with the classics: Hoola, Soleil de tan, Sun Bunny, or O!Mega…all winners in my book.

Next on to le body.

The framework is where it can be tricky and a dead giveaway that you’ve faked it. The secret is exfoliation, the mitt, and moisturizer. With those three on your side you can conquer the faux glow. St. Tropez, Loving Tan, Bondi Sands, and Australian Gold all make my list when it comes to consistency. Depending on your budget and preference there is no shortage of options out on the market. I hate the stickiness of tanning mousse so I opt for the St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan. It’s a LIFESAVER and pretty much foolproof. Just leave it on for three minutes while you lather, rinse, repeat and you will be GOLDEN…literally.
