So, I think we all know by now that sun exposure is bad for you. And if you didn’t, well I’m telling you now so there are no more excuses.
When I think of sunscreen, I think of my mom, and how for the entirety of my life she has emphasized how important is to protect your skin from the sun. She’s the kind of person who buys 100 SPF and is legitimately mad if I get a sunburn.
But we can thank our parents for warning us about the effects of sun damage to our skin, as well as improved science and studies. Check out the commonly referenced truck driver photo to see what I mean, (cuz yikes).
But sun protection doesn’t always have to be all about science; it can also be fun and fabulous! Here are some great SPF products that will guard your skin against harmful rays while also serving you another beauty purpose.

Not only is this product a game changer for your skin, it just makes so much sense! Usually, you would apply sunscreen to your face before you put on makeup, but sometimes we forget. At first glance, this spray sunscreen isn’t anything out of the ordinary. However, it has a unique handle that allows you to cover hard-to-reach places like your back. But that’s not why I’m telling you about it. I discovered this sunscreen while watching Scott Barnes, JLo’s go-to makeup artist, give a beauty YouTuber a JLo make-over. If you only know Jennifer Lopez for one thing, it’s that she GLOWS. She is over twice my age, and her skin looks like she has her own personal sun shining from within. So, one of Barnes’ tricks that he uses on JLo in order to achieve her superstar glow is this Neutrogena sunscreen! He sprays it all over her body, especially her chest, décolletage, and shoulders. Now that’s the best of both worlds; Amazingly glowy skin that is also protected from the sun.
Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen
If you know me, it’s no surprise that I’m featuring a Glossier product. What’s so amazing and innovative about this sunscreen is that it’s invisible! It was the first clear sunscreen that I had seen on the market. It has a water-gel formula, so it sinks into your skin and can be worn under makeup. It also leaves no greasy residue or white cast. Basically, it’s the perfect sunscreen for people who hate sunscreen. Apply this to your face every day (yes even during the winter) and your future self will thank you (or me).
