5 Tips for Better Sleep

We all need the right amount of sleep to function properly throughout the day. However, it’s not always easy to fall asleep at night. When it’s late at night and you can’t fall asleep try these tips:

1. Put the phone down:

This is the hardest, but try to turn off your electronics for at least an hour before you are ready to go to bed. The light from your laptop and phone makes it harder for you to fall asleep at night. If you can’t do an hour, try 30 minutes.

2. Light a candle:

Candles can set a cozy vibe, and help your brain get ready to wind down. A candle with a lavender sent will make your room feel very peaceful and relaxing.

3. Read a book:

Reading a chapter of a book can be a great substitution for watching TV or playing on your phone.

4. Skip the sugar:

Avoid sugary snacks before bed, they can give you extra energy and prevent falling asleep. if you want dessert, try to have it a few hours before you plan to go to bed.

5. Meditation:

Try listening to meditation videos while you fall asleep. This works like a charm! Try playing thunderstorm sounds or a calming guided meditation.
