Rainy days and cold weather call for a good coffee shop. The semester is in full swing, and it is time to find the perfect study spot. If the Fondren Library is not your scene, we are here to help. Coffee shops are essential to proactive studying, especially if you need a little background noise and good atmosphere to help you get work done.

Dallas is full of cozy and unique spots to visit, especially in these seemingly gloomy days. Whether you are studying for a test or meeting a friend, there are many Dallas spots to frequent. Below is a list of the uniquely different coffee shops scattered around town.

1. Halcyon

A colorful destination, that not only offers coffee, food, and alcohol, but also live entertainment and trivia nights.

2. Brewed + Pressed

Brewed + Pressed is reminiscent of a hip coffee spot in Portland or San Francisco. You can not only get your coffee fix here, but also healthy options such as juices.

3. Magnolias: Sous le Pont

Located in the Hardwood District, this coffee shop has cozy written all over it. Their drinks will leave you wanting more.

4. Weekend

This gem is located inside of The Joule Hotel in downtown Dallas. It’s minimalist look is not only satisfying to the eye, but also to the taste.

5. Local Press + Brew

Do not forget to order the avocado toast! If the weather ever improves come on a sunny day and sit outside.

6. Davis Street Espresso

Within the Bishop Arts District, you can find Davis Street Espresso. It offers many different seating options, especially outside.

7. Ascension

Not only are the warm drinks delicious, but their brunch is quite tasty. This is a great spot to bring your laptop, grab a cup of coffee and get to work.

8. Royal Blue Grocery

The classic study spot for SMU girls. Not only do they serve amazing coffee, but they also have wine tasting for when you want to catch up with a friend.

9. Commissary

The newest downtown Dallas hotspot. Decorated in impeccable taste, the Commissary is a must-try.

10. Bird Bakery

Rainy days have us wanting Bird Bakery’s warm tomato soup. Grab a cupcake and a coffee and make it a date with a friend.
