“Wicked” is no doubt the most anticipated movie premiere of 2024. With endless product collaborations with iconic brands both big and small such as Gap, Stanley, Béis Luggage and H&M, “Wicked” has made it loud and clear that they are here. Co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have been the face of it all as main characters starring as Glinda and Erivo as Elphaba in the 2024 revamp of “Wicked.”
In the public eye, the two have taken method dressing to a new level on their press tour. The pair has constantly been photographed together throughout year at many star-studded events. In deep greens and pastel pinks, the two have been photographed at events ranging from the Olympic Games in Paris to the Academy Awards. Stylists Jason Bolden (Erivo’s stylist) and Mimi Cutrell (Grande’s stylist) have honed in on dressing their clients in tier-top outfits matching their respective character’s wardrobe.
In 2023, we saw Margot Robbie commit to method-dressing for her film “Barbie,” and in 2024, we are given the iconic duo of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. A recent Variety article stated “Wicked” stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are taking method-dressing to “gravity-defying” new heights.” It is no doubt that this movie has made a strong statement in the fashion community. From the custom gowns to various appearances, the pair are truly embodying their characters in a whole new way. In the movie, we see the stereotypical Glinda and Elphaba costuming, but in the public eye, the two are completely modernizing their characters and truly bringing them to life.
