Describe your style in three words.

Bold, edgy and cool.

What’s your uniform?

Leather pants, crop top and statement sneakers. If I want to dress it up a little more, I’ll add an oversized blazer and some cowboy boots or a kitten heel.

Favorite place you’ve traveled to?

Hands down Dubai. It’s actually the coolest place I’ve ever been. The culture there was so unique. I had never seen anything like it before.

Favorite piece you’ve bought on vacay?

This straw crossbody bag I bought while I was in Fez, Morocco. It’s one of my favorite things I own.

What do you wear on a classic beach day?

A bikini, some sort of flowy cover up, and a hat. I never go to the beach without a hat to protect my face from the sun. And retro sunglasses are a must.

What about a night out on vacay?

Heels. I don’t always get to wear heels on an average night out at SMU, and they always make such a statement so I love to wear them when I can even if I am terrible walking in them.

How do you keep your body “vacation ready”?

Before going on vacation, I try to work out at least three times a week. I love getting some cardio in at Equinox, but while on vacation I make sure to indulge and enjoy myself, because I’ll most likely never be in these places again. I also try to listen to my body and sometimes settle for a relaxing walk or some stretches rather than a full blown workout

.

How do you find the good spots and restaurants on vacation?

I do a lot of prior research on Instagram. It’s kind of creepy, actually. I go to the city location on Instagram and see cool places where people have posted. I’m a very visual person so I have to see it before I want to go!

How has COVID-19 affected your traveling?

I just took my first international trip this last weekend. Prior to the pandemic, my family and I used to travel internationally every summer, but since, we have not had a big family trip. It makes me super sad. I love traveling for so many reasons, but I love that I get to wear pieces that I would not wear in my day to day life.

Shifting gears, here: What’s it like interning at The Dallas Morning News?

Working at the DMN has been a great learning experience because I don’t get treated as an intern but rather encouraged to pitch stories and conduct all my interviews by myself.

Tell me about your experience being from Mexico.

I think that my unique background makes me who I am because it helps me embrace being different. I transfer this uniqueness into all areas of my life including fashion. I’m not afraid to go against the grain sometimes.

Rapid fire round: Trendy or timeless?

I’d have to say trendy. The way I think about it is that I’m young right now, so I’ll never get to be as fashion forward with my outfit choices as I can now.

Heels or sneakers?

Cowboy boots.

Favorite accessory?

Funky rings.

Favorite designer?

Dior.

Style icon?

Camille Rowe and Bella Hadid.

Favorite fashion trend?

I’ve been loving the sheer glove trend. I just got my first pair in the mail and can’t wait to style them this winter.

Best Beauty secret?

The FADED serum from Topicals. It’s unreal. It gets rid of acne scars and hyperpigmentation like no other while making my skin glow!
