Ultimate Parent’s Weekend Guide

As parents weekend quickly approaches, many of you may be scrambling to make reservations to show them around Dallas. Not to fret, I have compiled a variety of restaurant options for you to take your parents to. Let’s face it, parent’s weekend it the weekend we all get to try those restaurants we have been wanting to try but haven’t had the budget to. Whether they are classic or trendy, I have selected a restaurant for you.

For the more classic Dallas type:

1. Neighborhood Services

This tucked away restaurant makes you feel like you are a number one priority. If you are in the mood for steak be sure to make a reservation here.

2. Al Biernat’s

More on the high-end side, Al Biernat’s has some of the best steaks in Dallas.

3. Le Bilboquet

I almost just recommend this place to go and people watch, you will see the who’s who of Dallas. The food and atmosphere is not to miss.

4. Bistro 31

Bistro 31 is a Highland Park Village classic. You will not be disappointed with the service and quality of food here.

5. Mirador

Mirador is a newer restaurant located on the top floor of Forty Five Ten. It has great views of the Dallas skyline and food that will not disappoint.

6. Saint Ann’s

The outdoor patio at Saint Ann’s is a must see. This is a great spot to grab brunch with your parents before the Boulevard.

7. Mi Cocina

A neighborhood favorite every Dallas person loves. Don’t forget to order a Mambo Taxi with your meal!

8. Honor Bar

The location and feel for Honor Bar is the perfect combination. The food is always delightful and drinks tasty. If you like Hillstone and R+D, you will love this restaurant.

9. Nick and Sam’s

Another Dallas classic, Nick and Sam’s provides the fine dining your parents have been waiting for.

This new vibrant restaurant on Lovers Lane is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite. The atmosphere and Mexican food is not to be missed!

11. Americano

This trendy Italian joint located in the Joule Hotel is a fun environment to bring your parents and friends to. It even has a fun neon sign you can snap a photo of.

12. El Bolero

Change things up by heading to the Design District for El Bolero. If you are like me, and like a lighter Mexican meal, you will love this restaurant. Their tacos and margaritas are to die for.

13. HG Sply Co.

Vegan friendly, HG Sply Co. is a lively atmosphere your parents must see. It is hard to get a reservation so book in advance. The rooftop bar is the perfect place to view the Dallas skyline.

14. Hudson House

Another new restaurant to pop up on Lovers Lane, Hudson House is a great seafood restaurant. Be sure to check out the new digs!

15. Dolce Riviera

This Italian eatery provides the atmosphere your parents are sure to love. This elegant restaurant is ready to impress.

16. Henry’s Majestic

Henry’s Majestic is close to campus and a great place to head to before the Boulevard. Not to mention the mimosa bar will impress any guest.

17. CBD Provisions

Also located in the Joule Hotel, CBD Provisions has a contemporary take on classic Texan dishes. It’s modern spin on cuisine is innovative and refreshing.

18. Sissy’s Southern Kitchen

Sissy’s is that southern comfort your out-of-town parents are expecting when they come to Dallas. The southern cuisine is sure to satisfy your hunger cravings.

As far as activities go, be sure to hit the Katy Trail for some fun family exercise. You can rent Lime Bikes after downloading the app on your phone, and maybe even bike to Katy Trail Ice House to grab a drink with them. If you have not been yet, I definitely recommend taking a visit to the Forty Five Ten flagship store on Main Street downtown. You can even grab a drink at the Copper Bar after an afternoon of shopping.
