Lucy Ladis’s Pick: The Texas State Fair

Notably, the most famous Texas tradition, the annual Texas State Fair, is here! This year’s theme is all about the history of fair food. Dig in on delicacies only available at the fair while enjoying many other attractions such as carnival games, rides, the petting zoo, livestock center, shopping, and the auto show exhibit. This is a must-do with your friends this fall season!

Shae Walker’s Pick: The Pumpkin Patch at the Arboretum

Shae Walker says, “I like the pumpkin patch because I always went with my family at home. My friends and I started a new tradition of carving pumpkins every year! It helps me if I ever feel homesick.”

The Dallas Arboretum is hosting its annual tradition: Autumn at the Arboretum. Visit this fantastic garden while it lasts. The last day is October 31st! This year’s theme, “A Fall Fairytale,” boasts impressive displays like the one pictured above. I don’t know a better way to get into the fall spirit!

Ivy Nielsen’s Pick: The Dallas Farmer’s Market Pumpkin Patch

The Dallas Farmer’s Market is undeniably the best spot in Dallas to get your hands on some fall goodies! The market has a great selection of baked goods, foods, and more from local, Dallas-based businesses. You can browse pumpkins of all sizes and colors grown here in Texas. Then bring them home as decor and carve them before Halloween! The pumpkin patch is also great for getting some Insta-worthy fall photos!
