Finding what colors suit you can be confusing. We’ve all heard that lighter shades look best on lighter skin tones and darker shades on darker skin tones. However, there is so much more that goes into finding what colors look best on you! Seasonal color analysis looks at your skin tone, eyes, and hair to determine what seasonal palette – summer, spring, autumn, or winter – matches you best.
Summer
People with a “summer” color palette often have shades of blonde hair accompanied by pale skin and light eyes. They also can have light-brown hair, but typically the contrast between their features is moderate. Soft pastel colors and some rich colors look best on people with a “summer” color palette.
Colors: neutrals, baby blue, light pink, plum, and cranberry
“Summer” Celebrities: Gigi Hadid, Emily Blunt, and Kristin Bell
Spring
Those with a “spring” color palette usually have warm skin undertones with light hair and eyes. Similar to summer, they still can have darker features. There is little contrast between “spring” features, however, there is more contrast than “summer”. Bright and vibrant colors look best on people with a “spring” color palette.
Colors: aqua, pink, yellow, grape, and lime green
“Spring” Celebrities: Rihanna, Blake Lively, and Emma Stone
Autumn
People with an “autumn” color palette can have a range of skin tones. However, their hair and eyes are usually dark with hints of amber. There is not much contrast between features, however, they all complement each other and blend. Warm golden colors look best on people with an “autumn” color palette.
Colors: olive green, ivory, gold, orange and shades of red
“Autumn” Celebrities: Jennifer Lopez, Emma Watson, and Rashida Jones
Winter
Those with a “winter” color palette have cool undertones with dark features. However, their eye color can be vibrant such as blue or green. Jewel tones look best on people with a “winter” color palette because it complements the high contrast between all their features
Colors: sapphire, plum, emerald green, silver, and fuchsia
“Winter” Celebrities: Selena Gomez, Janelle Monáe, and Anne Hathaway
