Bye-Bye High Ponytail, Hello Low Ponytail

Say goodbye to the era of the high ponytail! The classic high ponytail look has been replaced with the not so far off low ponytail. Although there are only inches of difference between the two styles, the low ponytail has created lots of buzz.

New York Fashion Week shows such as Ralph Lauren and Badgley Mischka incorporated the low ponytail look on their runways, as well as Cushnie and Christian Siriano. Redken Global Creative Director, Guido Palau chose to pair the hairstyle in an elegant manner with evening gowns for Ralph Lauren’s show describing the look as, “soft” and “exquisite.”

On the contrary at Christian Siriano, Justin Marjan a well-known hairstylist who is said to have started the low pony trend, chose to add silver chains to the look making it look both edgy and futuristic. These two styles could not have been more different from one another, showing that the low ponytail can be extremely versatile and can be paired with any look you are trying to achieve.

Jennifer Lopez, Bella Hadid, and even Ariana Grande, whose go-to hairstyle is the high pony, did not waste any time on following the new trend off the runways. All three wore the style differently. Avid followers of Ariana Grande even went to Twitter to publicize the singer’s support for the low ponytail generating buzz on social media.

So feel free to lose the Advil and tight rubber bands because headaches will no longer have to be another one of your accessories. It is time to embrace the new low ponytail look! Rock this sleek hairdo with your formal dress for a chic and easy hairstyle that will stay in place all night.
