Collina Strada’s dynamic new collection splashed onto New York Fashion Week’s stage with a plethora of playful designs. The brand self-identifies as a “platform for climate awareness, social awareness, change, and self-expression” (Collinastrada.com). Their collections stand out from the crowd not only in their designs but also in their dedication to sustainability in high-end fashion. The current collection is no different, drawing inspiration from Mother Earth, and natural elements aesthetically while utilizing recycled and environmentally friendly materials in their designs.
Imagine strolling through a grassy field, moss-covered stones glisten in the sunlight and wildflowers blanket the rolling hills just ahead. A garden gate, a steady beat, and out somersaults the first look of Collina Strada’s 2025 Spring/Summer collection. The collection embodies every aspect of a natural airy aesthetic. Models from every background and all walks of life frolicked down the grassy runway. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, the models get a little frisky, sharing a quick peck against the cobblestone wall.
The show radiates femininity with watercolor-like prints and pastels. Later in the show, these were paired with light plaids that ground the collection and nod to the Spring/Summer 2024 inspiration drawn from the viral “Grandpa Style.” The show was a fusion of the past and present, looking towards the future of the brand. Embracing the playful spirit of nature and one’s inner child, Collina Strada presents a nostalgic collection that is made to move. Models flip, twirl, and lawn mow down the runway emphasizing the versatility and wearability of the designs. All the while, the garments adorn the models, highlighting the continuity of the designs and the collection. Quiet confidence is a key component, clarifying the intention behind each piece.
The title of the show, “Touch Grass” reflects what Collina Strada believes is truly important: sustainability and connecting with nature. Her brand has been long rooted in climate-conscious ethos and her playful tone made a statement about fashion and the future of our planet.
