Finally – the moment everyone has been waiting for. No, not finals – the debut of SMU Look’s winter edition. Head to the Hughes-Trigg Student Center on Friday, Dec. 6 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate the magazine’s launch.
SMU Look is the biannual glossy print publication of SMU Look Media, the student-created and student-led brand based in the journalism division. It regularly wins local, regional and national awards, including multiple accolades from the College Media Association.
If that isn’t enticing enough, I’ll let you in on a little secret–there is lots of fun, free goodies. Cupcakes from Bird Bakery and products from CosBar are up for grabs.
“Since the theme is glamour, we thought it would be really fitting to have some makeup products available,” said Jackie O’Hara, Look’s Event Director.
For the first time, the launch will feature a sponsor: Desperado. Desperado is known for their sustainability-made, western-inspired leather jackets. A representative will also be there to assist you with your shopping needs.
Look’s Editorial Director Leighton Cottrell said that her idea for “glamour” was inspired by Audrey Hepburn. Cottrell wanted to channel Hepburn’s timeless style and poise throughout the magazine to emphasize how glamorous our staff can be.
“I’m excited to see both Jackie and I’s visions come to life,” Cottrell said.
Can’t wait to see everyone there!
