OrangeTwist Opens in Mockingbird Station: A Fresh Take on Med Spa Services Near SMU

By Sophia Pardo

A new medical spa has opened in Mockingbird Station near SMU, adding a unique twist on med spa services. I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening and was pleasantly surprised by the clean, calm, and welcoming environment of the storefront. I was immediately greeted by the spa’s staff, who took me on a tour of the space. The spa features a wonderful lounge for clients to relax in before their treatments, a consultation room, and, of course, the most exciting part—the treatment rooms.

I had the opportunity to speak with Denise Keeler, the Chief Growth Officer of OrangeTwist, who provided insight into the spa and its services. Keeler emphasized what makes OrangeTwist unique: the spa takes the time to personalize treatment plans and ensures that, regardless of age or prior treatments, the team will “meet you wherever you are.”

OrangeTwist was created out a lack of seeing services in the beauty industry and a need for medspas to be in a first floor retail storefront. The spa offers a variety of services, including neurotoxins and fillers, laser hair removal, body contouring, CoolSculpting, facials, scalp treatments and more. One of its most popular treatments among college-aged clients is the Hydro Glow, OrangeTwist’s signature facial.

“It takes the famous Hydrafacial and pairs it with the Glow 2 Facial, bringing them together. So it’s really three steps, 30 minutes, and the best skin of your life. It gives you this beautiful glow—so whether you’re going out at night or heading to a football game, you’ll have that amazing glow and just feel good, knowing your skin is healthy,” Keeler said.

Another treatment popular among the college crowd is baby toxin—and personally, I’m a big fan. After being impressed by the grand opening, I decided to book an appointment for myself. When I arrived, I was greeted by OrangeTwist’s injector, Priscilla, who was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The entire process felt highly professional, especially with Priscilla calling a physician assistant to clear me for services—something I had never experienced before when getting Botox. This time, I opted for Dysport to change things up, and the whole process was quick and easy. Priscilla took the time to listen to my needs and concerns, ensuring she understood exactly how I wanted my toxin to settle and made suggestions on what approach should be taken this time around while also chatting about new happenings around Dallas, the whole experience was super enjoyable.

I think something that I took away from the appointment was I never felt like I was trying to be sold on anything: rather I was being listened too and was able to receive a treatment plan that reflected the results I want. And as far as results, I am loving it I am someone who just has deep forehead lines and animated facial expressions now, I feel tighter lifted and have less movement without looking too overdone because maintaining a natural aesthetic is something that is important to me.

As for new beauty trends hitting the market, OrangeTwist is embracing scalp care, and the Keravive treatment is a standout offering at the spa. Essentially a Hydrafacial for your scalp, Keravive has a plethora of benefits.

“That scalp treatment, combined with a Hydrafacial for your face, will make you feel like a million bucks. Your hair grows faster, it’s healthier, your scalp is healthier, and at the end of the day, we all know this—it all starts with healthy skin cells, right?” Keeler said.

OrangeTwist also offers amazing benefits for SMU students and faculty through a unique membership for $49 a month that includes 20% off services and products, a complimentary hydrafacial on your birthday and exclusive events and benefits.

OrangeTwist really is a one stop shop close to campus to receive on your self care needs and I know for me it will now be a staple Dallas spot in my selfcare routine.

Note: I attended the event for the opening of the medspa, but I personally paid for my own treatment with no obligation or pressure to do so. This coverage remains completely editorially independent, and the medspa had no input into how, when, or whether it was written, in accordance with SMU Look Media’s editorial policy.
