The Ultimate “No Makeup” Makeup Look

Step 1: MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE

It’s all about the skin prep for this look. Dewy, collagen-filled, and hydrated skin is the appearance we want to give. Plus, a moisturized base helps your makeup last longer! My personal favorite product is the Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb (found at Sephora for $38). It’s a light-weight, oil-free gel cream that instantly makes your skin look and feel refreshed!

Step 2: Prime Time

A primer is the basis of any makeup look, especially a “no makeup” one. It is the easiest way to get a smooth base, reduce pores, and even out skin tone. Placing a primer that will radiate from underneath the foundation helps to create the refreshed look we all crave. Two illuminating products that will make the skin look “lit from within” are the Backlight Priming Filter Face Primer ($38 at Sephora) and the Under Eye Brightening Corrector ($32 at Sephora), both by Becca!

Step 3: Foundation

The key to an amazing “no makeup” look is a foundation that looks like your real skin. You want a foundation that is sheer but still gives you enough coverage. The best option for this is to use a light coverage liquid foundation or a simple bb cream. Even a tinted moisturizer works wonders. I love the Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Moisturizing Tint ($40 at Nordstrom). With just your fingertips, you can boost pigments, seamlessly cover any imperfections, and achieve a luminous, natural-looking finish.

Step 4: Conceal Those Bags and Blemishes

The trick is to use a lightweight and hydrating concealer that is a few shades lighter than your foundation. You want to blend it out, again, using your fingertips (the warmth from your fingers helps the product to melt into the skin). The Touche Éclat Radiant Touch concealer by Yves Saint Laurent ($38 at Sephora and Nordstrom) is essential. Easily applied to the skin from a golden pen, this concealer brings a bright light to the face while smoothing fine lines!

Step 5: Fake the Flush With That Blush

Staying away from a powdered blush is the best way to go when you want to seem “au naturel”. Cream or liquid always. Adding the pinky pop to your cheeks and bridge of the nose, makes you look alive and beautifully sun kissed! My go-to product is the Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek ($24 at Sephora). With a formula that blends right into the skin upon application, you can’t go wrong. This cute little stick of color is buildable, blendable, and the right amount of pigment for adding color to the skin.

Step 6: Lash Out

Actually, you’re going to want to go easy on the mascara since this look revolve around the appearance of nothing. You might consider no mascara at all. Perhaps a simple curling of the eyelashes will do. But, if you feel you can’t live without something on the lashes just remember to go for a mascara that isn’t too thick or heavy. A good one to try is the Diorshow Mascara by Dior ($29.50 at Macy’s and Sephora). It’s creamy, light, buildable and gives the appearance of natural-looking lash extensions.

Step 7: Nude and Kissable Lips

You want to give your lips a natural tint. My trick is to find a nude or pink that matches my natural lip shade and go one or two shades darker. You also want a lip product that is going to moisturize your lips and lock in the moisture all day long, so stay away from anything matte. I recommend a tinted chapstick, such as Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm (available at Target for $4.79). It comes in six different shades and is made with shea butter to keep those lips perfectly kissable.

Step 8: Ready, SET, Go

Always remember to set any time you wear makeup because it makes sure your makeup stays put. When doing a look that is giving the appearance of dewy skin, pick a setting spray. Stay away from powders. I think the best way to go is by using the Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater ($7.00 at Ulta). This lovely little pink spritz of magic not only sets your look, but also re-energizes your skin, leaving it radiant and ready to go!
