Are you tired of listening to stories from your mom talk about seeing Joan Jett perform “I Love Rock n’ Roll” live in a dive bar wearing nothing but a slip dress and Doc Martens? Well, it is time to embrace your mom’s bad ass glory days and get yourself a pair of Doc Martens, because they are so back.
Doc Martens are another trend from the ‘80s and ‘90s that have returned to the fashion scene. The Hadid’s, Emma Watson, Jessica Alba and even David Beckham can be seen sporting the Doc Marten trend.
According to Vogue, Combat boots were worn by the young and rebellious generations. This ride or die vibe has reclaimed itself cool again, and there are many ways to wear the look. Combat boots, specifically Doc Martens, can be dressed up or down. Try pairing the boots with jeans and an oversized blazer for a more casual look, or my favorite, wear the boots with an LBD to a party. The boots look great with just about anything.
There was definitely a time in history when men and women dressed very similarly, and we see a lot of that again today. The return of this grunge trend allows us to embrace our edgy side and has us feeling nostalgic for our parents.
