Take a Look: Grace Randall

With trends ruling the fashion world, it can feel like we’re all just wearing what is popular in the moment. We sometimes forget what fashion is really about; expressing your personality to the rest of the world by just walking down the street.

Junior, Grace Randall from California, takes this concept to a whole new level.

I sat down with Grace to ask her about where she gets her inspiration, her favorite brands, and the power of owning your look.

Grace has loved fashion since a very young age and ultimately attributes her inspiration from the famed Rodeo Drive.

“From a very young age, my mom would always take me shopping with her, especially in Beverly Hills. As I went to these super high-end stores and saw haute-couture or really avant-garde pieces, I definitely took an interest in that from a very young age,” said Grace.

She remembers her childhood uniform as a Juicy Couture tracksuit with a matching bow and platform flip flops. It was actually the Juicy store in San Francisco that sparked her interest in playing with color and having fun with what she wears.

“It [the store] was just so whimsical and fun, and I just loved that [in] fashion you can cater it to your own personal style,” said Grace.

Today, you’ll never see Grace in sweatpants, even the Juicy kind. She is always so put together and practices what she preaches. On most days you’ll see her in an adorable and colorful top with jeans and mules or a form-fitting maxi dress with statement earrings and platforms.

Grace is also a big believer in finding a good deal on everything she buys.

“I love finding a good deal and a good dupe. Because I like following some of the trends, I know I’m not going to keep everything forever, and I don’t always want to pay the high price,” Grace said.

Even though her favorite brands of the moment are LoveShackFancy and Zimmermann, she shops at stores like TopShop, Zara, and Reformation for clothes that emulate those higher brands.

Her personal style is eclectic, whimsical, and definitely bold.

“I like to push the boundary sometimes between avant-garde and wearable,” said Grace.

She loves clothes that are more avant-garde and structured — Something you wouldn’t find everywhere, anything with ruffles, texture, or fun, bold prints. One of her favorite items in her closet is a blue ruffled dress by the brand Saylor.

And through her love of fun and bold fashion, Grace has learned that it’s always important to stay true to yourself and wear what makes you happy.

“I definitely prioritize that over my fear of being judged for wearing something different,” Grace said.

Grace also has a blog, Live Love Gracefully, where she writes about fashion, food, and lifestyle.

By expressing her true self every day through fashion, Grace is an example that it’s always a good idea to take risks, think outside the box, and don’t take yourself too seriously. Fashion is meant to be fun, and anyone can wear anything if they’re wearing it with confidence!
