Fashion month closed out with Paris Fashion Week, so we are recapping the best shows and trends to look out for next season.
Paris Fashion Week was held September 23 through October 1, and it showcased women’s ready-to-wear for Spring 2020. Some of the biggest designers have shows in Paris, and the collections and venues are always amazing. Here are our picks for some of the best looks from Paris Fashion Week:
The Valentino show featured many all-white looks contrasted with pops of neon. The silhouettes are exaggerated and the fabrics are light and airy, making the collection perfect inspo for summer vacations.
With references to the Belle Époque– the French era of the late 19th century- as well as some 70s influence, Louis Vuitton featured bright colors and patterns with masculine silhouettes. Also, the multiple looks with puff sleeves indicate that the trend is here to stay.
This collection had an “undone” look with the look of fabric scraps added to dresses, raw hems, and a splatter-painted floral pattern. The pieces were inspired and yet very realistic for ready-to-wear!
This season, Chanel showcased its classic tweed sets and tailored silhouettes with unexpected twists like bright, multicolor tweed and pops of metallic silver. Following Karl Lagerfeld‘s passing, creative director Virginie Viard defined her version of the “Chanel girl” with this collection.
Inspired by the savannas of Africa, the pieces in this collection combined femininity with rugged silhouettes and unexpected details (like grommets). The result was some of the coolest and wearable looks from Paris Fashion Week.
Valli stayed true to his delicate and feminine aesthetic with pretty florals and puff sleeves. The models even had fresh flowers incorporated into their makeup!
The collection included everything from black suits with leather details to white lace dresses with unexpected black puff sleeves, but all the pieces had the recognizable edgy style of McQueen.
We can’t wait for next season!
