Rebecca Taylor is a New Zealand-born designer based in the Big Apple. To this day, she has expanded her retail outlets to Japan. Taylor’s designs have been worn by many celebrities, such as Reese Witherspoon and the cast of Sex in the City. The company explains itself to be a “womenswear line inspired by an idea of Romanticism Redefined.” This year’s fall collection is so stunning that I had to include a few of my favs.
After canceling her New York Fashion Week show in 2015, sales increased. This led to an executive decision to pull from NYFW indefinitely. Her original conclusion for canceling was that they had “lost the vision of what the shows were for.” She, of course, made this decision in good heart– after all, she has had great mentors. Upon arriving in New York in the early ’90s, she worked as an assistant to Cynthia Rowley before launching her contemporary label at the age of 26. She is now 52, still designing beautiful collections!
Rebecca Taylor is one of my most favorite labels in fashion. There is so much beauty in simplicity!
