How to Style Your Bar Cart

Although drink-carts have been a staple among the wealthy and influential since the Victorian Era, the bar cart craze kicked off for the general public in the mid-1950s after World War Two. Now, they are coming back stronger than ever through viral Tik-Tok videos that garnered attention this summer just in time for college student’s apartment shopping.

My roommates and I were influenced by Tik-Tok videos like this one, this one, and this one and made a bar cart a non-negotiable in our apartment shopping-list.

Although we don’t really make drinks on the bar cart, it is the one piece of furniture that always gets compliments when we have friends over. Style over functionality works for me!

  • Add big and bold pieces

My roommates and I fell in love with this big skull head we found at Home Goods. It is a trendy statement piece for the middle of the cart and it was only 12$! Home Goods always has fun things like this, you just have to be willing to look for them! Here is a link to a similar skull. We also have an astronaut that gets a whole lot of compliments! It is also from Home Goods, but here is a similar one on sale!

  • Re-use bags from fun shopping trips

My roommate had a Dior bag lying around her room after she made a purchase there. We thought about displaying it on the cart to fill some space and it looks great! This is a simple way to dress up a bar cart with something you may already have!

  • Napkins galore

Napkins are an inexpensive way to add some personal flair to your bar-cart. You can find napkins with funny sayings like this one at Party Bazaar or Amazon!

  • Decorative drinking glasses

We got our glasses from places like TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Target, etc. but here are some fun linkable ones!

Although I have linked several products, I recommend going to stores like TJ Maxx and Home Goods to find accessories as their inventory changes often and they have great prices!

This is a fun opportunity to display you/your roommates’ style and vibe in the physical form! Have fun with it and make it unique to you!
