In need of some TLC? Recently, I implemented a self-care reward system into my routine, I’ve found it has been a great way to unwind amidst the stress and chaos of college life. By cutting back on my weekend outings, I’ve saved more money, which I now spend on self-care splurges. For my most recent self-care session, I visited The Now, a boutique massage spa in Lower Greenville, and needless to say, I’m obsessed. Booking this last-minute self-care day online was so simple, thanks to The Now’s wide range of appointment slots available from early morning until late at night. Upon booking I opted for the 50-minute signature massage. I also treated myself to some of The Now’s enhancements, like the cupping gliding, a scalp treatment, and the hemp calming balm.
Once I arrived at the spa, I was immediately immersed in its calming atmosphere. The ambiance was meticulously curated, from the cozy wooden accents to The Now’s signature jasmine and coconut scented candle, that immediately put me in a relaxed mood. The staff was attentive and friendly, greeting me with a cucumber lemon water upon arrival and giving an in-depth explanation of the benefits of the treatment.
They explained that treatment is designed to be rejuvenating: relieving stress and promoting relaxation. The cupping enhancement aids circulation while also supporting the immune system, clearing toxins, and promoting lymphatic detoxification. The scalp treatment uses coconut oil to stimulate hair growth, while the hemp balm soothes with the help of the cooling peppermint and warming capsicum.
After learning the benefits of my treatment, I met my masseuse who asked a series of questions to ensure that my treatment was tailored to my personal needs. I was then led to the massage rooms, which were breathtaking. Adorned with a bohemian theme, the room transported me to a serene beach ambiance with canopy-style rooms, salt lamps, crystals, and calming ocean sounds. Once I got on the table, I was wrapped in a luxurious sheepskin blanket, and my massage began.
Overall, my treatment was incredibly relaxing. My favorite part was definitely the cupping. For my next visit, I will probably switch to the deep tissue enhancement, along with the cupping, as I felt like the massage itself was too delicate for my liking. Aside from that, I left my treatment feeling refreshed, lighter, and at ease. I will definitely be returning for another massage at The Now, and I highly recommend it for your next self-care indulgence.
